Orion could hardly believe where he was. One moment he’d been exploring a patch of forest, the next, he was on what seemed like some sort of floating structure. He’d seen some glimmer of light, heard a faint crackle, almost like lightning, but then it was gone, and so was he. He’d found himself on the outskirts of what appeared to be a bustling city, filled with activity, with equine and cervine. And most, if not all, of them had wings! The inquisitive stallion was filled with amazement, and more than a little apprehension. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been in close proximity to so many people…if he ever had. It was more than a little overwhelming, especially since he didn’t, couldn’t, speak.

Feeling more than a little lost, Oreo looked about in vain for a sign that there was someone who would help him get his bearings. His wings were tucked closely to his sides, and helped shelter the scaled form of his companion Elara. Her white form blended in well with his own white coat, the only discernible features being her bright blue eyes and the little pink tongue as she tasted the air. She was wound loosely around his neck, her head tucked against the uppermost part of his wings.
As he looked around, he thought he spotted someone who had looked his way more than just to offer a judgmental glance, but he wasn’t entirely sure. So, he just lingered there, on the outskirts, looking incredibly lost.

She had gotten four proposals on the third day of arriving from equines and cervines alike. Some even wanted to hire her as a mercenary or asked if she was in something called the air fleet. It confused her the first times but now it was getting to the point where she just glared at others if they looked at her too long, walked up to her or talk to whomever was standing next to them at the time. It was an insult to be hired for money since she would never sell her strength.
Still, there were those who kept looking at her like they've never seen an all black dragonic horse in their midst and so far...she had yet to see anyone like her really. They were mostly bright or light covered, one even looked like dear Isolde. But of course, Isolde didn't have wings. It made Syrilth both sad and frustrated with herself. She wouldn't be here, that would be a cruel stroke of luck. Well it would be nice too.
Suddenly, the portal she walked by shimmered brightly, the lightning sizzling loudly as it spat someone out. All eyes turned to them, Syrilth's included, to see whom had arrived. The lightning on the portal crackled for a few before stopping. She wished that the damned thing would give an explanation of where it took her.
"Oh my, look at those wings!"
"They're so tall and white! Do you think they're part of an air fleet team back from the mission?"
"Those feathers are truly divine!"
Syrilth was paying more attention to the odd snake with wings. The fact that they didn't even comment on that was weird. It's like the two were switched, wings were more interesting than a unusual companion. They didn't seem to move either from the spot with others looking at them curiosly and cooing but not one stepped forward to them. They looked like they were looking for someone? Turning to her right she saw no one react to them when they looked at the newcomer, nor did any to her left.
Taking it upon herself, she went up to them. Only one way to find out if they were and needed help. Heh, if Malphas could just see her now. When she got closer, she noticed that they weren't much shorter than her but still enough to look down at them. "Hey." It wasn't the best greeting. "Are you looking for someone?"

Orion was well over his head and he knew it. Only problem was, he didn’t know that he even knew how to get back to…wherever he’d been in the first place. And did he even know if he wanted to? Maybe this was meant to be, all happened for a reason, and he would find a place to call home at this…intriguing looking place. So focused was he on figuring out where he was and what was going on that he didn’t notice the fascinated and awestruck looks at first. It wasn’t until a few moments later when he realized the crowd gathered around were looking at…him?
@Syrilth
Already the mute stallion could feel a blush warming his face as he heard some of what they were saying about him, about his wings in particular. He had noticed that most everyone seemed to have wings…was that a thing here? Nevertheless, he wasn’t exactly one to start a conversation, obviously, and nobody seemed interested in stepping forward to…he didn’t even know. Greet him? Ask him where the heck he was from? Meanwhile Elara poked her head out over his wing, little pink tongue testing the air as her pale blue eyes surveyed those around the duo.
Can I eat them? Don’t they know it’s rude to stare? Her voice arose within his mind, making him hide a grin by focusing on one figure in the crowd in particular. They stood tall, she stood tall, taller even than Oreo himself, and she was the complete opposite of himself in terms of coloration. She seemed less than enthused with the crowd around her, and more intrigued by Elara than Orion. The fact that she wasn’t yet another stranger ogling him for odd reasons, that alone endeared her to him, even if only the slightest bit. After a short time of Oreo standing there like the most awkward of creatures, she seemed to take pity on him and approached, her greeting brief and to the point, asking if he was looking for someone.
Orion offered a shy smile, then shook his head in response. No, he wasn’t looking for anyone, not really. His look was one of questioning as he looked around at their surroundings, then back to her, curiosity pricking his ears as he watched her, hoping she might help provide some answers.

The first thing she noticed was that he didn't speak. If she had been her foul tempered, short tempered at that, self back then, she would've demanded him why he wouldn't speak. With a glare. The biggest glare. After the past years, Syrilth wasn't bothered by what she used to find annoying. Besides sexist fools. Those were never going to stop being one. He seemed to look around, before looking back at her. His ears pricked forward and it clicked of what he expected. It was like her father who silently asked what was going on after she got in deep trouble playing one time far too roughly.
If this one before her was wondering where they were. Well, he was going to be disappointed. "I don't even know either." Syrilth looked over at the ones still staring. "They just stare or the bold ones come up and ask you out of the blue questions rather than give logical answers. Although..." Noticing one nearby, a golden cervine with large white antlers, and shimmering scales, Syrilth called out at them. "Hey! You there! Yeah you. Where is this place? What is this place called anyway?"
The golden deer laughed as if it was a joke. "You mean you don't know?! Ha! Why, you're in the Isles. The Isles of Volatilis, ruled by our King Zirilo Viteri. A descendant from the -" Syrilth turned away back to the stallion before her. There. We're in...that long word I don't care to pronounce."
"Hmph! You should be honored with the name for it is our original language!"
Syrilth rolled her eyes.
